About Luna Park

About Luna Park Sydney

Luna Park Sydney is an entertainment precinct of many faces.

These days you’re just as likely to visit this superbly restored fun-park to catch a concert at the Big Top, eat classy cuisine at The Deck or take in the million dollar views as you are to ride the Tango Train or Ferris Wheel, as folks have been doing since 1935.

Now as then, Luna Park is just for fun. It's a people’s park where you can throw a party for the kids, host your dream wedding or stage a gala for thousands in the state-of-the-art Crystal Palace. Click below to travel through time and experience Luna Park's history.

History

Community

More than any other venue in Sydney, Luna Park runs on people power. Without the support of the community – kids, adults, poets, artists, notables in the entertainment community and captains of industry – Luna Park would not be the venue it is today. Thank you to everyone for their support and contribution.

"I know Metro Edgley would be sensitive to the immense heritage significance of this site... it is possible to restore Luna Park to the place it held in all Sydneysiders' affections by reinterpreting entertainment needs in a contemporary sense. I am sure that there are few organizations in Australia better placed to do this than your company."
Leo Schofield, Festival Director, Sydney Festival

”Luna Park will be a wonderful addition to Sydney's performing arts and theatre venues. The Luna Park site is certainly one of Sydney's most striking locations and is ideally located as a venue for theatre, comedy, jazz, dance or a range of other artistic performances."
Simon Morgan, Executive Producer, Sydney Comedy Festival

“Once again bring this wonderful and historic area to the forefront of life in and around Sydney Harbour and be a focal point for local and overseas visitors.'
Graeme Murphy AM, Artistic Director, Sydney Dance Company

"I am writing in support of the joint venture between Metro Theatre and Edgley International to bid for the development and management of Sydney's Luna Park. In particular for the plans to construct two new theatre spaces."
Jonathan Parsons, Festival Director, Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras

"I think the idea of developing the Luna Park site is an excellent one."
Ross Stretton, Artistic Director, The Australian Ballet

"It hardly needs to be said that the Symphony is delighted that Metro Edgley's plans are developed around a genuine commitment to the expansion of cultural activities in the inner city."
Luke Nestorowicz, Director of Marketing and Communications, Sydney Symphony Orchestra
