We’re gearing up for another super fun July School Holidays - and we want you on our team!

Luna Park Sydney is now recruiting enthusiastic individuals to be part of the Luna Park show! The recruitment audition will be on Wednesday 30th May, with two start times either 5.00pm OR 6.00pm here at Luna Park.  If you’re keen to join our team we’d love you to come along to try out at the auditions!

Below you’ll find information about everything you need to know before applying for a position with Luna Park…

Important things you need to know…

In order to proceed past the first evening of the interview process; all applicants with first be put through an audition. Successful applicants will then pass through to a one on one interview. All applicants must:

  • Be well presented, with a vibrant, fun-loving personality and a smile as big as our trademark face. You must be able to speak and understand both written and verbal instructions in English. These positions have direct guest contact and require the ability to fluently converse in English.
  • Have permission to work in Australia. We will not interview any persons who does not have permission to work in Australia. Visas candidates are welcome.
  • Be available to work a variety of shifts across 7 days (including nights and weekends) on at least 4 days per week from Friday 30th June to Sunday 15th July inclusive. Select candidates will be offered ongoing shifts post School Holidays.
  • Be a minimum of 16 years of age.

**Please be advised that during the audition stage you will be asked to participate in fun group activities that requires speaking in front of large groups, dance/physical movement and working in teams to complete exercises. Please dress in suitable attire to ensure you can move freely, crouch and jump. We are not looking for great dancers or actors however candidates will be selected based on their participation, communication, enthusiasm and confidence in these activities.

The selection process will have several exit points for unsuccessful candidates throughout the evening. Candidates who pass BOTH the first round auditions and interviews are then required to attend an additional half day the following fortnight, after which time those applicants will be advised whether or not they have been successful. Training will commence mid June.

When are the interviews taking place?

The audition/interview will be held on Wednesday 30th May commencing at EITHER 5.00pm OR 6.00pm. You should allow upto 3 hours to undertake all stages of the recruitment phase that evening.  If you can’t make it on this date, unfortunately there are no alternate dates available for interview at this stage.

 Where are the interviews being held?

At Luna Park. Simply walk through the entry face and follow the signs to recruitment interviews.

 Do I need to book an interview time?

No. Simply show up at either 5.00pm o 6.00pm on the 30th May

 How long will the interview take?

The interview process will take up to 3 hours depending on whether you are selected to move through to interview.

How do I get to Luna Park?

Luna Park is easy to get to. Simply:

  • Catch the train to Milsons Point station and walk down the hill, or;
  • Get a ferry from Circular Quay to Milsons Point Wharf, or;
  • Drive to Luna Park, 1 Olympic Drive Milsons Point. There is a parking station located at Luna Park, entry via Paul Street.

 How to get here

What do I need to bring on the day?

  • Copy of photo identification. A drivers license or passport is sufficient.
  • If you are not an Australian resident; you must bring a copy of your passport and Work Visa / permit otherwise you will not be interviewed.
  • A copy of your resume.
  • A copy of your RSA Certificate (if you have one)
  • Your personality! We’re looking for larger than life, guest focused people with good communication skills who love to go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure each and every guest has a fantastic experience at Luna Park, so bring your personality with you!

 Do I have to be available every night and every weekend?

Generally, yes if the park is open at those times. However if you need a day (or night) off for some reason, this can be arranged in advance.

 How much do I get paid?

This will depend on the position you are hired for. All employees will be engaged under the Luna Park Services Pty Ltd Enterprise Agreement 2010. The casual starting rate for most positions for anyone over the age of 18 years is currently $20.60 per hour plus superannuation.

 Do I get free rides if I work for Luna Park?

Yes. You are able to enjoy the rides for free when you work at Luna Park. We also offer our staff 40% off food, beverages and merchandise in the Park and 20% off food and beverages at The Deck and Sonar.

 What positions are available?

These positions are available:

 Rides Operations Hosts

Round and round, some fast, some upside down – you name it, our rides do it! You will assist in the safe and efficient operation of our rides and attractions, and ensure all Guests have a safe, enjoyable and FUN experience. No previous experience is necessary. Applicants for these positions must be aged 18 years and over.

 Sideshow Presenters

Be a spruiker in Sideshow alley! Laugh and create memories for our Guests while they enjoy our classic sideshow games.

 Guest Relations Hosts and Ticket Sellers

Welcome our Guests to the Park and assist by providing information on products and services on offer.

 Food and Beverage Hosts

Serving up everything from delicious fun park favourites including juicy hamburgers to fairy floss, coffees, salads, ice creams and behind the bar on special events. You will assist in the efficient operation of our take away and cafeteria outlets in the park. Applicants for these positions will require an RSA Certificate and must be aged 18 years and over.

 Merchandising Hosts

A trip to Luna Park isn’t complete without a souvenir. You’ll be selling everything from on-ride photos to balloons, toys and ice creams.
