Venue Guidelines
Please be aware of the following requirements, which must be adhered
to when holding an event at Luna Park:
Operations Manager authority/ Duty Manager's discretion
Luna Park is a sensitive site under strict guidelines and regulations
set by the NSW Government and North Sydney Council and the Hirer
must abide by the instructions given by the Principal's representative.
Public Liability Cover
A current Public Liability insurance cover for not less than $10
million for each event and in the joint names of the Principal and
Hirer must be in place.
Catering & Liquor service
All catering for the event will be organised through the Park's
exclusive caterers.
The Park supports the Responsible Service of Alcohol policy and
the Principal reserves the right to refuse the service of alcohol
to anyone displaying behaviour which may pose a risk to themselves
and/or others.
Noise
No amplified sound is to be used in the outdoor areas of the Park.
Any amplified sound must not exceed 60dba at the nearest
residence. The Principal reserves the right to lower this limit
should it receive complaints which might affect its ability to hold
events in the future.
Smoking
NO SMOKING is allowed in any of the venue rooms or rides
at Luna Park. However smoking is permitted in the outdoor areas
of the Park, including the decks at either end of the Yarraman Crystal
Palace.
Bump in/out
The Hirer and its contractors, agents, etc may only bump in at the
time(s) agreed to by the Principal. Bump out must be completed within
two hours of the completion of the event. Should bump out take longer
than the time agreed there will be a charge of $275 per hour or
part thereof.
Rides
Smoking or drinking is NOT permitted on rides. Patrons must
always obey the instructions of the ride operator. There are height
restrictions on some rides. Visitors wearing open-toed shoes cannot
go on the Wonky Walks or Turkey Trot.
Equipment installation/ Decoration
All sound, lighting, staging and themeing running sheets must be
forwarded for approval by the Principal 14 days prior to the event.
Glitter bombs, confetti bombs, etc are not to be used. No nails,
adhesive tapes, fastenings, etc may be used. Blue tac is permitted
but permission must be given by the Principal's representative.
Any electrical work must be carried out by the in-house electrician,
for which work an hourly fee will apply.
The Principal is not responsible for any items, equipment, etc left
at the conclusion of an event.
Parking
No vehicles can enter the Park at any time without the Principal's
permission. No vehicles can be in the Park when it is open to the
public or during an event (held by the Hirer or any other party)
and all vehicles must be removed at least half an hour prior to
the commencement of an event. Use of the Luna Park loading dock
is available by arrangement.
Use of the Luna Park car park will be at the Hirer's own cost.
Venue Hire
Hire is for a specific venue within Luna Park and does not give
any exclusivity to the Hirer for any other areas of the Park. Other
venues/rides will be hired out at the Principal's discretion.
If any outside areas are required for drinks, etc an additional
charge will apply.
The venue fee is for the times noted in the contract. The Hirer
acknowledges that the Principal may suffer damages as a result of
the event going overtime and so may be required to pay an additional
fee, the minimum being $275 per hour or part thereof.
Security
If security is required for a venue, a charge of $35/hour per guard
will apply.
Deposits/ Cancellation
An event is not confirmed until payment of the deposit and bond
is made. The deposit is non-refundable if the event is cancelled.
If an event is cancelled less than 60 days prior to the date, 40%
of the total fees will be payable. If an event is cancelled less
than 30 days prior, then the Hirer will be liable for the total
fees.
The bond will be returned within 30 days after the event provided
no damage has been done to Luna Park personnel, property or equipment
or if the event is cancelled and there are no monies outstanding.
