How long do I have to skate?

Sessions will last for 30 minutes with 15 minute intervals in-between each session. Skaters can enter or exit the ice at any time, subject to capacity and skate availability. Closures to maintain the rink will vary depending on weather and the amount of use.

Do I have to book a session to skate?

Nope! Skating sessions will be open to anyone who wants to skate at the time, subject to capacity.

How many people can skate at one time?

The rink can accommodate 100 people at a time, subject to skate size availability. The ice marshals will monitor sessions during peak periods to ensure Guests can make the most out of their session.

When will the outdoor ice rink be operating?

The outdoor ice rink will be open during regular Park hours every Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, final date to be announced soon! The final skating session will begin one hour before the Park closes.

Is Winterfest free to enter?

Absolutely! The Luna Park Winterfest is free to explore, however if you’d like to skate, you will need to present a rides pass. Skating is included for free in your Unlimited Rides or Annual Pass. You can also use one of your Sampler Pass admissions to access the Ice Rink.

Where can I purchase tickets to skate?

Unlimited Rides Passes and Annual Passes are available for purchase at any Luna Park Ticket Box or buy online in advance and save at buyonline.lunaparksydney.com. Sampler Passes are available for purchase on the day from Luna Park Ticket boxes only.

What is the age/height limit to skate?

Children under 130cm must be accompanied by an adult with a valid rides pass at all times on the ice rink. 

Do you have any skate aids available?

Yes we do! We have a number of penguin skate aids available for use for our younger skaters. Skate aids are free to use and subject to availability; just grab one that’s free while you’re on the ice!

Do you have age/height requirements for your other rides?

Each Luna Park ride or attraction carries it’s own height requirements. To view which rides you will be able to access, see a copy of our Park Map, available from any Ticket Box or online here when you scroll down.

It’s raining/forecast to rain – can I still skate?

The rink can operate in both light and heavy rain, so you can skate in rain or shine! Ponchos will be available for purchase if you wish to be a little more protected as you skate.

What happens if the ice rink is closed due to weather/safety reasons?

The rink may close temporarily during adverse weather conditions. Please check with Guest Relations on the day of your visit.

Is the ice rink wheelchair accessible?

It sure is. Luna Park Sydney is an accessible site, and the rink is equipped with the appropriate facilities to allow wheelchairs on the ice.
