We are looking for a tenacious, diligent WHS professional to lead improvement and deliver strong results within this area of specialisation.

About The Role

As WHS and Compliance Manager you will be responsible for ensuring compliance, systematic WHS management and establishing and maintaining health and safety programs for the Park that comply with relevant legislation and company values.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Oversee and manage Luna Park Sydney's WHS Management system in line with AS/NZS standards.
  • Apply strong knowledge of risk management principles
  • Provide expert advice and internal consulting to relevant parties
  • Develop and implement practical and effective solutions to improve safety outcomes
  • Develop best practice regime under WHS legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Organise and deliver relevant WHS induction and training
  • Hazard identification and risk management
  • Auditing, conducting inspections and creating SWMS
  • Possess the ability to influence and promote a positive safety culture
  • Analyse incident/hazard reports and injury claims to implement action plans
  • Management of all Workers Compensation claims
  • Take responsibility for the injury management process and oversee the return to work cases ensuring compliance and employee well-being during rehabilitation
  • Treating injuries/illness, applying first aid requirements with confidence and professionalism
  • Manage First Aid team members
  • Available to work regular shifts over weekends, evenings and school holidays.

 

About You

  • Strong experience in a dedicated senior WHS position
  • Minimum certificate IV in WHS essential
  • RTW Coordinator certificate
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment is highly desirable
  • Good understanding of current WHS Act and WHS regulations
  • Familiarity with interpreting and applying WHS code of practices
  • Advanced first aid qualifications or a qualification in Nursing is a distinct advantage

The successful applicant will require strong negotiating and influencing skills to champion the WH&S strategies within the company, ensuring this strong culture of safety is maintained across the organisation. You will be consultative in your approach with the ability to build relationships and strive for excellence in all tasks you perform.
