Whether you’re a witch, little monster, crazy clown or vampire, Luna Park Sydney welcomes all during the October school holidays for the best new, free, Halloween family festival around: Spooksville.

Held over the frightful month of October, Spooksville will pop-up on Lavender Green with a free trick or treat trail presented by Wizz Fizz. Face painting and more will also be on offer and will be $2 per activity, with 100% of the profits donated by Luna Park to the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation.

From the Monster Mash to Thriller, arrive early to check out the opening scaremony in the Park or join our favourite spooky characters on the Green for dance parties at intervals throughout the day. Families can expect quirky food such as spooky face pies and scary floss.

A ‘Best Dressed’ will be crowned each week with prizes up for grabs, so pull out your Halloween best to ensure you won’t be upstaged by Lunabob and Lunabelle, who will transform into a vampire and witch for the occasion.

To add to the Luna Park action, two new rides will arrive for the school holidays; Auto Racer will definitely be a family favourite as the kids get a chance to take the convertible for a spin, and Round Up, which will get your heart racing as you spin high up in the sky.

Spooksville will run over the school holidays between 28 September to 14 October, and then the two following weekends, 19 and 20 October and 26 and 27 October, and is free to enter.

Sydney’s most terrifying Halloween event is back at Luna Park Sydney from 25 October, ready to take you on the hell ride of your life with its darkest and scariest event yet, Halloscream 7: Hell on the Harbour.

Prepare for unspeakable horrors and heart-racing scares as Luna Park Sydney transforms after dark, plunging guests into an immortal underworld. Not for the faint hearted or those under fourteen, the lost souls, demons and freaky characters will scare the hell out of any hardened-Halloweener. Your scariest Halloween costumes and hellish make-up looks are strongly encouraged.

The gates of hell will open each night to a Satanic Possession Ritual, where Satan and his Gate Keepers loom over the Harbour, and those who dare to enter will be entranced by terrifying sounds from The Skeleton Drummers. This devilish congregation will bring destruction and a post-apocalyptic experience.

Navigate your way through darkness inside three immersive horror mazes in their new home within the Big Top. Outlaw takes you inside an outback saloon being held up by bushranger bandits so be careful not to be taken hostage; in Ward 13 a nurse has gone insane and has gone on a raging killing spree, and inside Yokai you will delve into the world of Japanese horror folklore.

Halloscream 7: Hell on the Harbour will feature new and returning attractions sure to keep you awake at night, including:

  • Satanic Possession Ritual – Dare to walk through the gates of hell past an army of the dead led by creatures of the underworld known as El Diablo, Brimstone and Moloch.
  • Ward 13 Immersive Maze – Nurse Brenda is a crazed nurse on a murderous, blood-spattering rampage through an old, derelict hospital. It’s chaos and medical mayhem in here.
  • Outlaw Immersive Maze – A dangerous gang of Aussie outlaws in the 1800s overtake an outback pub, holding patrons hostage to avoid the police. These highwaymen are wild, desperate and ready to kill for their lives.
  • Yokai Immersive Maze – Descend into darkness as you enter the Japanese Museum of Yokai. Supernatural forces await – a faceless ghost (Noprerra-Bo), slit-mouthed woman (Kuchisake-onna), bathroom ghost (Hanako-San) and a dog-like yokai haunting the mountains (Okuri Inu).
  • Séance Immersive Maze – A murderous cult has taken over Luna Park’s Mirror Maze and is rumoured to be holding evil seances. A local girl has gone missing. Delve into the maze and uncover the mystery of the missing girl.
  • Mystery Manor – Home to the legendary Doctor Hoffmeister and his wife, the tale of the Mystery Manor is dark and twisted. Manic inventions, horrifying rumours and much speculation lurk in the Manor’s past.
  • Parlour of the Perished face painting – Join the damned and possessed with a collection of disturbing face painting options.

Running on the darkest of nights between Friday, 25 October and Saturday, 2 November, tickets start from $54.95 and include access to unlimited rides and entry into the terrifying attractions at Halloscream with guaranteed screams all night.
